Luxury Cross Mountain Home Under Contract in Less Than 3 Weeks
Nov 12, 2025
It’s no secret that the San Antonio housing market is cooling. In Cross Mountain, for example, average days on market have grown to ~74 days, up from ~61 days last year. Buyers are still looking for well-priced homes in this coveted area of the Texas Hill Country, but lightning-fast sales or bidding wars are rare unless the property is truly special.
In this environment, selling a high-end home quickly is a challenge—but this gorgeous luxury home, listed by David Wieder, went under contract in less than three weeks. A key factor in the fast sale was strategic staging that carefully handled a distinctive design choice in one of the home’s most important rooms.
Reimagining a Unique Space
As stagers, we know the most important rooms to stage are the entryway and any spaces visible from it. First impressions matter—and they’re hard to change—so staging the front room properly was critical.
This particular home’s front room, just to the left of the entry in the photo below, presented an interesting scenario with its eye-catching floral wallpaper.

The former homeowner was a harpist, and the room with floral wallpaper had been arranged with two large harps, clearly intended as a music room. While charming, we knew it wouldn’t resonate with most buyers.
We considered staging it as a formal dining room—but the house already had a large dining area with ample room to seat eight people, plus a large kitchen island with room for four barstools.

Instead, we reimagined the space as a formal living room, using the floral wallpaper as inspiration to guide design choices and create a cohesive look throughout the home—from the entryway to the outdoor living area.

Design Choices That Tie the Home Together
To maintain a cohesive flow throughout the home, we carried elements of the floral wallpaper into other design details—like selecting soft, muted tones for upholstery, including this olive green sofa from Austi-based Four Hands. We also incorporated subtle toile and velvet textures, and choose classic yet streamlined furniture with gentle curves and carved accents.

On the covered terrace, we selected a sofa and chairs with gently curved shapes and natural fibers, paired with comfortable, casual fabrics that reflect the effortless elegance of the French Country style. The result is an outdoor retreat that feels both relaxed and thoughtfully connected to the home’s overall aesthetic.

The Results: Under Contract in Less Than 3 Weeks
In a market where luxury homes can linger for months—and in a neighborhood where listings are staying on the market longer than usual—this rapid sale demonstrates the power of professional staging.
By reimagining the floral-wallpapered front room as a formal living space and carrying its colors and textures throughout the home, the staging highlighted the property’s best features while creating a cohesive, inviting flow from the entryway to the terrace. Blending French Country and transitional details, each space felt intentional and approachable, helping buyers connect with the home and ultimately contributing to its quick sale.
