$1.8M Alamo Heights Home Sold in Under Two Months With BY Design Staging
Aug 11, 2026
This newly built home in the heart of Alamo Heights listed for $1.8M and went under contract in less than two months after being staged by BY Design.
While the exterior draws from classic Craftsman architecture with its beautiful green facade, the interior takes a lighter, more modern approach. Our goal with staging was to bridge these two influences so the spaces feel cohesive.
The builder, Caudill Homes, and listing agent Raul Resendiz of Phyllis Browning Company wanted staging that felt authentic to the architectural story already woven into the home’s design.
Winning the Listing (Even Against a Lower Bid)
Before staging even began, this project presented an interesting twist. Another staging company had submitted a proposal that came in significantly lower than ours.
During our consultation, our team walked the home with the builder and listing agent and discussed how staging could support the Craftsman inspiration behind the design.
That thoughtful approach made the difference. Even with a lower-priced option on the table, the client ultimately chose BY Design because they felt confident we understood how to honor the home’s architectural story.

Designing With the Craftsman Story in Mind
Instead of applying a generic modern staging style, our team leaned into the home’s architectural roots. Our design approach focused on three key ideas.
1. Warm Woods and Natural Materials
Touches of warm wood and natural textures introduced the craftsmanship and nature-inspired elements associated with Craftsman design while maintaining the home’s lighter, modern feel.
2. Nature-Inspired Details
The builder had already established a soft, neutral palette, so our staging layered in natural textures, warm woods, and nature-inspired accents to complement the home’s Craftsman influence.
3. Thoughtful Restraint
Craftsman design celebrates natural materials and thoughtful detailing. In this bedroom, soft neutral layers and carefully chosen accents keep the space calm and inviting while allowing the architecture and natural light to shine.

Solving a Unique Layout Challenge
One interesting design challenge came from the living room fireplace, which slightly encroached into the seating area.
Without careful planning, bulky furniture could have made the space feel cramped.
The solution was thoughtful scaling.
We selected smaller-profile furniture pieces that allowed the room to breathe while still creating a comfortable, inviting seating area. This ensured the fireplace remained a focal point while keeping the layout open and easy to navigate.
For buyers walking through the home, the space felt natural and well balanced
A Luxury Listing That Captured Attention
By aligning the staging with the home’s architectural inspiration and overall design story, we helped present the property in a way that felt cohesive and intentional from the moment buyers walked in. Instead of simply decorating the rooms, the staging reinforced the character the builder had already established.
The result was strong buyer interest and a quick path to contract. The $1.8M Alamo Heights home went under contract in under two months, proving once again that thoughtful staging can help a luxury listing make a stronger impression and move more quickly in a competitive market.
